Pensioners may be able to get their Council Tax bill discounted depending on their circumstances. Council Tax Reduction could potentially provide a big saving for those who claim it.

- A free TV licence (for those aged 75 and over)
- Help with heating costs
- Help with NHS dental treatment, glasses and transport costs for hospital appointments
To find out if someone may be eligible for a Council Tax Reduction, they must apply to their relevant council.
Britons can use the Government website to check which council they are a part of.
Once the website has matched them to the relevant council, they will then be able to click through to that council’s website.
Applications for Pension Credit can be made through the Gov.uk website.
Alternatively, people can apply by phone or by post.
