CEFELIX ACADEMY – A RISING STAR IN EDUCATION

There are several indicators used in measuring the standard of a school that is rising and fast becoming a star. CEFELIX Academy can be described as education provision which has capacity to improve student achievement using outcomes that matter to their future success. The Academy, which is a school located in Sukura, a suburb of Accra has over the years made consistent progress across their provision.

In a recent visit by Grant Bulmuo, a UK based Education Consultant and the Programme Director for Africa Education Gateway, he observed the outstanding initiatives the leadership has put in place to develop their staff which has reflected on the quality of teaching and learners’ progress.

FOCUS

The visit focused on discussions about how to improve teacher performance, staff growth and retention, as well as the introduction of the DEXT SCIENCE SET, an innovative educational tool for the basic school level which facilitates the teaching and learning of biological diagrams, simulations, and understanding of natural phenomena for the Science-based Curriculum in Ghana.

OBJECTIVES

One of the key goals for the visit was to review the school’s development as a beneficiary and member of the Global Standards School Network (GLOSSNET) since it signed up in 2018. In addition, the visit aimed to explore and promote the use of technology to improve teaching and learning as well as inquire about student’s performance.

CEFELIX ACADEMY

Dr. Attipoe Felix Yao Klenam, the school’s director, remarked that the school has experienced significant gains in staff performance, student overall performance, and student enthusiasm in class. The school has also enhanced its use of technology in the classroom to assist pupils grasp what they are learning. Dr. Attipoe Felix Yao Klenam also emphasised the rising need to assist low-income families in affording fees for their children, a concern to which he is dedicated.

ABOUT GLOSSNET

GLOBAL STANDARD SCHOOLS NETWORK (GLOSSNET) is a network of schools under Africa Education Gateway with the goal of boosting standards through excellent and creative classroom practise. Facilitation of staff continuous professional development and exchange of relevant materials so that members may continue to improve standards in their schools.
