Update on BECE results by WAEC
Having successfully conducted the BECE examination at 2,023 centres, The West African Examinations Council through a press release dated Thursday 19th January, 2022, has indicated that it is working towards the immediate release of results for the BECE for School and Private Candidates, 2022. It has currently completed Co- ordination and Marking exercises and far advanced with post-examination activities.
The release which was signed by Rev Victor Brew, head of Legal, mentioned that investigations are ongoing into examination irregularity cases detected during and after the conduct of the examination. Schools authorities are advised to cooperate with the council where there is the need for a quick resolution of malpractice cases. Affected school authorities and candidates should respond with dispatch to all the Council’s invitation regarding this matter. Candidates are informed that their refusal to honour such invitations shall not impede the Council from making a final determination on the cases in question.
The Council urges the public to disregard all information circulating on social media indicating that the results have been released, among others.
The target date for the release of results for the BECE for both School and Private Candidates, 2022 is Wednesday, 25th January, 2023.
Furthermore, Schools, Parents and candidates should remain calm as the Council works towards the release of results.
