Transcarent, a healthcare platform focused on self-insured employers, has appointed Tim Rosa as chief marketing officer.

Rosa comes to Transcarent from health-tracking wearable maker Fitbit, where he also served as chief marketing officer. It was acquired by Google in early 2021.

“Transcarent is attracting top talent from some of the biggest consumer brands and healthcare organizations as we execute our vision to bring transparency and humanity to health and care,” CEO Glen Tullman said in a statement.

“His experience in launching and scaling world-class brands and impactful health services that drive global consumer engagement will be critical as Transcarent continues to expand our offering to provide more members with the health and care experience they deserve. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Tim to the team.”

Transcarent raised $200 million in Series C funding in January, and recently announced a new behavioral health program.

Healthcare data analytics company Komodo Health appointed Dr. Aswin Chandrakantan as chief operating officer, in addition to his role as chief medical officer.

Chandrakantan has worked at Komodo since 2016. He’d previously served in Google’s global product operations and strategy unit, and at consulting company McKinsey.

“Komodo is known for our differentiated technology strategy, but we are also known for the business discipline we bring to our market execution,” Komodo cofounder and president Web Sun said in a statement.

“With a proven track record for leading Komodo’s commercial, product, clinical and customer functions, we are thrilled to expand Dr. Chandrakantan’s leadership role, where he will bring a relentless focus on our mission to reduce the burden of disease as we prepare for the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Komodo raised $220 million in Series E financing in March last year. It announced it had acquired life science market access software company Breakaway Partners last July.

EHR and provider tech company athenahealth hired John Hofmann as chief financial officer following the retirement of Luis Borgen last month.

Hofmann comes to athenahealth from transportation and logistics software company Omnitracs, where he was CFO. He’s also served as CFO at marketing data firm Infogroup, now rebranded as Data Axle.

“I am honored to join the incredible team at athenahealth,” Hofmann said in a statement. “I share the company’s commitment to innovation and its focus on providing software and technology solutions that enable improved physician productivity, patient engagement and healthcare outcomes. I look forward to working with the many dedicated and talented people at the organization to further realize the company’s mission of transforming healthcare delivery.”

Clinical trial tech company YPrime announced it had appointed two new members to its executive team, Mohan Ganesan as chief financial officer and Alison O’Neill as chief operating officer.

“It’s a real privilege to add these two experienced leaders to our executive team,” CEO Shawn Blackburn said in a statement. “We have always been about ensuring an optimal experience for sponsors, sites, and patients.

“Under Mohan’s leadership, we will be able to make strategic decisions about investments that will serve our clients’ ever-evolving needs and measure the impact of our business. Ali’s depth of expertise allows us to continue enhancing our products, processes and services to meet the needs of these crucial stakeholders throughout a clinical trial.”
