Austria is in negotiations to acquire 12 M-346FA light fighter jets from Italy to replace the Saab 105 aircraft that were retired from service in late 2020.

The M-346FA (Fighter Attack) is a multi-role light fighter aircraft derived from the M-346 advanced jet trainer.
