Alpha Beta Christian College was named Best AS/A Level School at the British Council Partner Schools Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 15, 2022, at the Accra Town Hall. In addition to 6 Academic Excellence Awards obtained.
The Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr. McMahon, congratulated the Award recipients, School Directors, and Teachers.
In this year’s event, out of Ghana’s 78 British Council partner schools, 22 students from seven (7) schools received 36 awards. Alpha Beta took first place in the following categories:
1. STAR PERFORMER AWARD -IGCSE BIOLOGY (SELORM TETTEH 97%)
2. STAR PERFORMER AWARD -IGCSE SOCIOLOGY (KENSEMA AMFO SACKEY 95%)
3. STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL CHEMISTRY (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 94%)
4. STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 94%)
5. STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL PHYSICS (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 96%)
6. BEST GCE AS & A LEVEL STUDENT (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE)
7. BEST GCE AS & A LEVEL SCHOOL
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the British Council Awards for Partner Schools. Alpha Beta has won the title of Overall Best IGCSE/AS/A Level School for the fifth time. The school’s administration credits the pupils’ IGCSE / A-level achievements with the Adinkrahene Leadership Programme initiated in 2014 by the school’s director, Dr. Naomi Adjepong.
Dr. Naomi Adjepong expressed her gratitude to God for the awards and affirmed that “The Adinkrahene Leadership Programme is a unique program run by Alpha Beta Christian College. That seeks to consciously develop confident, creative, and competent African leaders for the twenty-first century by ensuring that students gain the inspiration, knowledge, exposure, and skills they need to succeed as future leaders.”
Some influential faces that graced the occasion were; Mr. Keith McMahon, Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr. Sean Harris, British Council Business Development Manager, and Country Lead for Ghana/Senegal/Sierra Leone. Mr. Chikode Onyemerela, British Council Country Director for Ghana and Cameroon, Efua Asiedu, British Council Senior Manager for West Africa, and Directors and Students from the various Partner Schools in Ghana.
