While some fans loved Meghan’s look, others were not impressed by it, with several calling it a toga – a distinct Ancient Roman garment worn by males. The duchess shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the glamorous event, showing herself and her husband and giving fans a look at the back of her dress.
But some users were not a fan of the look with one fan writing on X: “I didn’t realise how tacky that dress looked tell I saw this oh my gosh video.”
A second one joked: “Morticia called, she wants her bed sheets back…”
Meanwhile, another one opined: “Her dress looks like a Toga costume.”
A fourth one commented: “I think her dress would look better on someone that was taller.”
A fifth one said: “Wayyyy to much fabric and that superfluous slit…”
A sixth one blasted: “That dress is not right for her. She’s too short & that back…nope.”
It comes as the duchess revealed that Princess Lilibet helps her feel brave, and that she considers motherhood a “superpower”.
Meghan made the personal admission while answering questions from children for InStyle ahead of the release of her production company’s latest documentary, Cookie Queens.
Asked what her superpower is, the duchess replied, “being a mum”.
She said: “I feel like we have superpowers because we juggle it all and enjoy it all with grace and grit at the same time.”
Asked by another child about what makes her feel brave, Meghan said: “Every day, when I feel a little bit like, ‘Oh gosh, can I do this?’ I go: ‘Lili would do it.’ ”
Harry and Meghan’s media production company, Archewell Productions, partnered with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films on the documentary, a coming-of-age story about Girl Scouts selling their cookies.
The documentary, which had its premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, follows “four tenacious girls (who) strive to be a top-selling ‘Cookie Queen’, navigating an 800 million dollar business in which childhood and ambition collide”.
